The Airport Meteorological Office

The Seychelles Meteorological Service operates an Airport Meteorological Office (AMO) at Seychelles International Airport with designated ICAO identifier (FSIA).

The Meteorological Office is responsible for issuing forecasts and warnings on hazardous weather which may affect the safety of aircraft operations at the aerodrome.

The office also doubles up as a Meteorological Watch Office (MWO) having the responsibility for providing weather forecasts and warnings within the Seychelles Flight Information Region (FIR).

Aviation weather observers and forecasters work around the clock at the AMO/MWO to make weather observations and issue weather forecasts and warnings for the airport and FIR.
